Day 2: Circles

(Published on 2. December 2025, 06:00 by SharpFox)

Welcome to day 2! You may find day one here. SudokuPad
  • Normal 4×4 Sudoku rules apply.
  • A digit N in a circle indicates that this digits appears exactly N times in circles. For example, a 3 in a circle means there are exactly three 3s in circles.
  • Exactly one gray dot each acts as one of the following:
    • It separates two consecutive digits or
    • It joins two digits where one is double the other (black dot as yesterday).
Happy solving!

Went a bit too hard on the hinting in the rules IMO. Described the concept of the grey dots very well in a way that expects the solver to think a bit, just to immediately explain what to do about it (saying one dot has to be black and the other white). The logic itself was actually quite nice afterwards.

Quite nice little puzzle. Though I think the dot in column 1 is unnecessary.

I've never had a real life advent calendar, so it's really lovely having your little puzzle advent calendar. Many thanks!

Ich genieße diese kleinen Rätsel auch sehr. Ich finde 81% (z.Z.) keine niedrige Bewertung, es könnten alle mit 'gut' oder 'sehr gut' gewertet haben.

I don't understand where the low rating is coming from. I've got a feeling that some people rate very easy puzzle very low on principal.
I enjoy your tiny little advent calender very much! :)
