Russian Doll Sums
Inspiration for this type comes from timotab.
Solve online in Sudokupad or in Penpa+.
Starting on Monday December 1, I will publish an easy sudoku variant every day as part of a sudoku advent calendar. I have chosen 24 variants from SVS that turned out to be too difficult and made an easier version of this type. There will be solving hints with each variant, so there is a lot to learn, beside the fun of solving.
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Clues outside the grid indicate a sandwich where the two crust digits sum to the clue and so do the sandwiched digits. Two sandwiches in the same row or column appear in the same order as the clues and they do not overlap, not even by a single digit.

Had several false starts on this one, can't quite figure out why (one of them I know I missed a possibility for C1's clue, but the others are a mystery).
I like that there's a couple of places to first approach it that each demonstrate tactics needed later in the puzzle.

My sandwich solving instincts had to be thrown out the window, this required a completely new way of thinking. Very clever.
