Mirror Maze

(Published on 16. November 2025, 02:40 by Jarian Amone)

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Every even cell contains a mirror oriented at 45 degrees. In cells with numbers 2 or 4, the mirror runs from the bottom-left to the top-right (╱); in cells with numbers 6 or 8, the mirror runs from the top-left to the bottom-right (╲).
  • There are 18 pairs of laser emitters and receivers outside the grid. The laser enters the grid perpendicular to the edge. When it encounters a mirror, it reflects. The laser direction is always horizontal or vertical, and it always passes through the center of the cell it traverses. Finally, it exits the grid.
  • The laser emitted by an emitter must be received by the receiver with the same letter.
  • The path of the laser emitted by an emitter with a special color is the corresponding special line:
  • Renban line (Ren): Every renban line contains a set of consecutive digits in any order, without repeats.
  • 3-Modular line (Mod): Every 3 consecutive cells along a 3-modular line must contain a complete set of residuals modulo 3. i.e: one from (3,6,9), one from (1,4,7) and one from (2,5,8).
  • German whisper line (GW): Two cells connected by a German Whisper line must have a difference of at least 5.
  • Entropic line (Ent): Every 3 consecutive cells along a entropic line must contain a low digit (1,2,3), middle digit (4,5,6) and high digit (7,8,9).
  • Parity line (Par): Every pair of consecutive cells along a parity line must contain an even and odd digit.
  • Dutch whisper line (DW): Two cells connected by a Dutch Whisper line must have a difference of at least 4.
  • Thermometer (The): Numbers on a thermometer strictly increase as they move away from the bulb (the solver need to find where the bulb is).
  • Killer line (Kil): Digits on a killer line must sum to the number in the top-left corner and cannot repeat.
  • for Renban line and Killer line, if a digit is traversed twice by the same line, it is only counted once.
