Crudely Drawn Stickman

(Published on 5. November 2025, 10:30 by Wiggel)

The creation of this puzzle was like butter.
From the idea, to finding working patterns, to making them fun to solve, every step of the way was smooth and enjoyable.
I hope you have at least a fraction as much fun solving this puzzle, as I had setting it.

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules do NOT apply.
Fill every cell in the grid with digits from 1 to 6.
Digits on a thermometer strictly increase from the bulb to the tip.
Each row, column, black line and both of the main diagonals all contain a UNIQUE set of 4 non-repeating digits. (Eg. No two groups can have the same composition of digits, and no digit can repeat within a group.)
All black lines are 4 cells long and pass through the center of all affected cells. One line is thicker to make it easier to distinguish.
Scanning for unique sets in the grid is NOT required.

Solution code: Rows 2 and 4 (left to right, 8 digits total)

A little tricky to read, though I eventually got used to where the lines went. I really enjoyed this! Took me a good long while to figure out which numbers could be the same. I'd love to see more of this style, though it looks like it'd be a nightmare to set up.

It wasn't hard to solve using colors or letters, but for the life of me I can't find any way to deduce more than 1 digit. I found a bunch of possible solutions and can't figure out what's wrong with any of them.
