4x4 Miracle Samurai Sudoku

(Published on 4. November 2025, 13:21 by DiMono)

Fill each 4x4 grid with the digits from 1-4 so that no digit repeats in a row, column, or box within each grid.

Anti-knight: cells a chess knight's move apart must contain different digits.

The 6 clue is a standard X-Sum going upward, and a standard Little Killer going down-right.

X-Sum: The first X digits in the seen direction add to the clue, where X is the first seen digit.

Little Killer: All digits along the indicated diagonal must add to the value of the clue.

Very cute use of anti-knight! My sister-wives and I thoroughly enjoyed this snack!

Been a hot minute since I last did a samurai sudoku. I think anti-knight is a bad rule to use with 4x4s, since filling out any single box means that finishing the rest of the puzzle is just busywork.
Still, I wouldn't have realized that if not for this puzzle, so that's neat.

This doesn't have a solution with just the rules specified.
I think you need the anti-knight rule to extend between different grids, except not the central one because that obviously beaks everything.

---

The rules don't restrict the reach of the anti-knight rule. It applies to the entire puzzle, and definitely has a unique solution with the rules as described. I hope you enjoy it!

this was such a fun solve, I love the aplication of the anti knight rule for a really fun bit of logic

Nice puzzle, a little confusing at the end with Knight restraint affecting between boxes though. Personally I would specify that in the ruleset to avoid confusion. Very nice otherwise, quick and easy :)
