One Louder

(Published on 9. November 2025, 12:33 by abw)

Normal sudoku rules apply: place the digits 1 to 9 in each row, column and 3x3 box without repeating any digits.

Digits in killer cages sum to the total shown in the top left corner. Digits may not repeat in a killer cage.

Digits on the black "Tap Track" lines can be grouped into digits summing to 11. All digits on a line must be in one and only one group, i.e. there are no gaps between groups and groups do not overlap. Digits may repeat in a group if allowed by other rules.

Digits separated by a white Kropki dot differ by 1. Not all such dots are shown.

Play online: SudokuPad

If you find it hard to read the numbers over the black lines, then you might prefer this version of the same puzzle: SudokuPad (grey lines)

Solution code: The nine digits in row 5, left to right.

The black lines probably added 2 more stars to the difficulty as you struggle to see the pencil marks unfortunately.

EDIT: Didn’t notice the grey lines alternative unfortunately.

Hi clauchau. Each letter is a separate track. All of the groups on a track are connected - there are no gaps between groups on a track and no overlaps. Groups can go around corners and branch. For example, a T-shaped group that goes up the side of the letter "A" and branches across the middle cross-bar.

Hello. Should we assume each group is connected? Or is the answer to be deduced? Is the letter "A" only one line we can partition with some branching group? Or is the answer to be deduced as well?

Thanks for the feedback welgen. I've added a link to the same puzzle with grey lines.

Nice one, thanks for setting.
The black lines make it very hard to read the numbers, I would have preferred a lighter color.
