 Rules:
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Counting Circles:
A digit (not value) in a circle indicates the number of circles which contain that digit.
- Medusa Cells:
One cell in each row, column, and box is a Medusa Cell.
No two Medusa Cells contain the same digit.
The value of a Medusa Cell is the sum of its own digit and the digits of the cells which are turned to stone (petrified) by the Medusa Cell...
- Petrification:
Any cell which contains a digit equal to the distance from itself to a Medusa Cell in the same row or column is turned to stone, and has a value of 0.

If there are two Medusa Cells at the same distance from the petrified cell, then the Medusa Cell with the larger digit is the one which is considered to have inflicted the petrification, and only that Medusa Cell gains the value lost by the petrified cell.
- In this puzzle, the set of cells with counting circles is exactly the set of cells which are petrified.
- Killer Cages:
Values may repeat in a cage.
The values of the cells in the cage sum to the indicated total.
- Gray Squares:
A cell containing a gray square must have an even value.

Neat and interesting puzzle. I like the interaction of the main mechanics and how sudoku plays a role periodically!

Really interesting puzzle where all the aspects of the rules work nicely together. I think I had some unfamiliarity with the rules which added to my solve time, but the "Medusa" concept is an interesting addition to the modifier options for setters.
