Box and Cell Parity

(Published on 26. October 2025, 19:10 by cdmh)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Draw a closed loop of orthogonally connected cells that does not touch itself, even diagonally. The loop must visit all 9 region boxes (numbered 1 to 9 in reading order from top left to bottom right) passing through all non-given cells in each box where the odd/even parity of the cell matches the odd/even parity of the region box. The loop does not pass through the 3 in the centre of the grid.

Cells with grey squares must contain even numbers. Cells joined by an X sum to 10 and those joined by V sum to 5. Digits along marked diagonals sum to the number indicated outside the grid.

I liked the overall idea, but I must say that there is an imbalance in difficulty between drawing the loop and then figuring out the Little Killers. The loop is pretty straightforward, but narrowing down options on the diagonals is brutal for someone who doesn't dream about that kind of stuff nightly.
