Introduction
This Puzzle was created for ChattyKathy's Birthday series, where puzzles where prompted to be set around the digit-sequence 1-3-4 (or 4-1-3). This was my first try, but it turned out a bit too difficult for the format, which is why I ended up setting a second sudoku called Cakeless Whisper.
Rules
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Straight 1-3-4 trominos:
- There are seven instances of the digit sequence 1-3-4 appearing in three adjacent horizontal cells, in that exact left-to-right order.
- Picky Killer Cages:
- Digits do not repeat within a cage.
- Each cage contains a single clue, placed in the cell that comes first in reading order (top to bottom, left to right) within the cage.
- This clue represents the sum of all 1s, 3s, and 4s in the cage or the sum of all digits excluding 1, 3, and 4.
- Fog:
- The grid is partially covered with fog. Correctly placed digits will clear the fog around that cell. No guessing is required.
Solution code: Row 1 from left to right (9 digits).

Awesome fog puzzle. From my solve time 3.5*. Break in is so clever. Mid solve was tricky too. Great setting thx.
