diploptic triptych

(Published on 20. October 2025, 20:20 by aqjhs)

This one is heavily inspired by ChinStrap's Cross-eyed.

  • Place a digit from 1-9 into every cell such that digits do not repeat in a row, column or 3x3 box. There are nine 3x3 boxes that overlap at the dotted lines.
  • Parity Mirror: Each cell has the same parity as the cell reflected across the marked diagonal (e.g. if r2c6 is even, r6c2 is also even).
  • A clue outside the grid is the sum of the first X cells in the corresponding row/column, where X is the digit in the cell nearest to the clue.

Found the midgame tricky after the first few digits, had two possible worlds that were hard to distinguish. Very nice puzzle, thanks!

Really fun, I got stuck for a bit just at the end when I forgot one of the earliest deductions, and then had a moment of "I broke it" because I forgot the main parity mirror rule :D

Great fun, thanks for setting it :D

First time I attempted a squish puzzle. Great fun. Thanks, @ aqjhs :).
