The miracle in cell nº7

(Published on 12. October 2025, 17:36 by Duarte-Carvalho)

Normal sudoku rules apply. The grid is mostly covered by fog, entering a correct digit will clear the fog around the correct placed digit. Killer cages: digits in a killer cage must sum to the number in the top left corner and cannot repeat. Any two cells separated by a knight's move or a king's move (in chess) cannot contain the same digit. The numbers of two orthogonally adjacent cells may not be consecutive. Even: grey squares must contain an even digit.

Learn to do one knight+king+non-con, you learn how to do them all

With negative constraints of knight, king and consecutive this whole puzzle can be solved with just elimination of possibilities, no king and knight pattern knowledge needed.

Solved without knowledge of any pattern and without bifurcation.

Very nice. The combination of anti king/knight and non consecutive rules makes it approachable. TQ!

How to prove that the anti-knight and the anti-king combined forces a certain pattern?

Geez laweez that was not level 1. Arguably level 2 since, after you find the trick, the puzzle falls upon itself.

definitely not level 1.
yes, you can make some easy progress early on, but you quickly run into a position where you need either massive bifurcation, or knowledge of some pattern that only a setter would know.
