Sudoku Forge: Fusion and Summation

(Published on 4. October 2025, 14:51 by SharpFox)

After two Sudokus using this idea here's a third one. I realized that the Sudoku fusion allows an extensive use of another ruleset I really appreciate: summation lines.

SudokuPad Rules:
  • Normal 6×6 Sudoku rules apply twice. The grid looks like a normal 6×6 Sudoku. However, each cell is divided by a diagonal from bottom-left to top-right, forming two triangular halves. Each triangular half contains its own digit. The lower triangles together form a complete Sudoku (rows, columns and boxes must each contain the digits 1–6 exactly once). The upper triangles also form a separate, independent 6×6 Sudoku with the same rules.
  • Digits on an arrow sum to the digit in the attached circle. Digits either increase or stay the same along a thermometer, starting from the bulb. A white dot connects consecutive digits.
  • Red lines are summation lines. In every set of three adjacent cells, there are exactly two digits, that must sum up to the third one. (There are only two red lines)

Solution code: The first column(!), cell by cell, first the upper, then the lower triangle (12 digits, SudokuPad copies it correctly):
