45 Different Numbers

(Published on 3. October 2025, 10:26 by billybeth)

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

The grid contains exactly 45 different Numbers. Where a Number occupies more than one cell the Number is read horizontally from left to right only. Numbers do not share cells with other Numbers.

Mega-whispers. Along the green lines Numbers must differ from adjacent Numbers on the line by more than fifty.

Numbers in red cages must sum to the total in the cage's corner.

Any Number appearing in a red cage or on a green line must be entirely in the cage or on the line.

Black dots separate Numbers which are in the ratio of the digit inside the dot.

This puzzle flowed very beautifully and was never too tricky. Thanks for sharing.

BTW: Please settle for shorter solution codes. At least on mobile, repeatedly switching windows for typing in long numbers is quite cumbersome. In this case maybe ask just for row 5, where the last deduction occurs. (Also, without built-in solution checking, you‘re already restricting your audience - no need to restrict it further.)

Hi Ragna. You need to place 45 different numbers in the grid. You can use the nine single digits but you need another 36 so we need to use double digit numbers eg 27, 35 etc. Then the rules use those numbers so for example we could put the number 18 in the first two cells of row one. With the 3 ratio dot we could then put a single 6 in the third cell or alternatively put a 54 in third and fourth cells . hope this helps. billybeth

Along whispers and in cages, does the number have to be entirely within the clue or does it count towards it even if it only has one cell on it?
