Sudokross

(Published on 3. October 2025, 08:34 by Lyouke)

My first puzzle! I was introduced to variant sudokus from a YouTube video recommending Rat Run by Marty Sears. I’ve since solved most of his puzzles and have been inspired to take a shot at making my own. I’m a big picross fan, so I had to find a way to combine it with sudoku. Might make a bigger one in the future if I’m feeling up to the task.

Rules:

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply.

Digits between black Kropki are in a 1:2 ratio.

Digits along an orange whisper line have a difference of at least 2.

Digits along a pink whisper line have a difference of at least 4.

This puzzle is also a nonogram. An even digit is either always on a filled in square, or never on a filled in square. Odd digits are unaffected.

Nonogram: The numbers on the outside represent nonogram clues. Each number represents the length of a contiguous region of filled-in squares in that number's row or column. If there are multiple clues in the same row/column, there must be at least one space that isn't filled between them. The regions appear in the same order as their clues. All clues are given.

Solution code: Second Row

When I stopped making up my own rules and read what was written I did ok and it was an interesting puzzle.

I first seemed to think all evens were off/on the shaded are when you were supposed to look at the digits individually plus I misread the line differences.

I think I also made up an incorrect assumption some squares wouldn't have digits in.

Not my best solve.

Enjoyed that as a nice change, thanks for sharing your first puzzle. It's a little easier than 3* IMO but very nice.
