Mini Sudoku Fusion

(Published on 30. September 2025, 16:05 by SharpFox)

This is an easier version of one of my new ideas. The first puzzle didn't turn out so well. Thanks to the helpful feedback of Gnubeutel (thanks at this point!) I was hopefully able to improve. Important: the cells on the diagonals remain empty and have no effect on the lines!

SudokuPad, Rules:
  • Normal Sudoku rules apply twice. The grid looks like a normal 4×4 Sudoku. However, each cell is divided by a diagonal from bottom-left to top-right, forming two triangular halves. Each triangular half contains its own digit. The lower triangles together form a complete Sudoku (rows, columns and 2×2 boxes must each contain the digits 1–4 exactly once). The upper triangles also form a separate, independent Sudoku with the same rules.
  • Pink lines are renban lines. They contain a set of non-repeating consecutive digits.
  • Digits on an arrow sum to the digit in the attached circle.
  • Red lines are parity lines. Each pair of adjacent digits on that line must contain one odd and one even digit.
  • Digits on a thermometer strictly increase, starting from the bulb end to the tip.

Solution code: Row 4, first all upper triangles, then the lower ones (8 digits):

Nice! Very easy, which is actually pretty helpful for getting a better handle on scanning.

Great concept. Definitely an improvement on the 9x9 for the fun factor. :)

Die letzte Regel ist im Deutschen falsch. Die Ziffern dürfen nicht gleich bleiben.
Tolle Idee auf jeden Fall :-).

Very neat! I started the other one but quickly lost interest because I found it hard to scan (the logic seemed pretty fair as fr as I could tell). This one is definitely on the "almost too easy" side but still very interesting.

I really like the improvement with the conflict checker.

I think you might have swung a bit too far in the other direction and made this one a bit too simple? It's still good fun and a great intro to the ruleset though.

Interessantes Konzept. Ich habe die andere Version probiert, aber recht schnell aufgegeben.
Das ist jetzt ein netter Einstieg für eine spannende Idee.
