Thanks to all the testers, and especially gdc for feedback about fog and formatting.

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply in the main 9x9 grid.

  • DYNAMIC FOG:
    • The grid is covered in fog. Placing a correct digit in a cell (either inside the 9x9 grid or the outside clues) lifts fog from that cell and possibly others.
    • All clued outside cells must be filled.
  • SKYSCRAPERS:
    • Clued digits outside the grid count how many digits are 'seen' looking into the grid in the row/column. Digits are visible when they are larger than all digits before them.
  • AMBIGUOUS ARROW LINES:
    • Purple lines move orthogonally through the grid and do not cross, branch or share cells with other lines.
    • For each line, one of its digits (not necessarily an end) is the sum of all its other digits.

All feedback (positive or critical) appreciated!

Solution code: Row 7 of the inside 9x9 grid, left to right (9 digits total)

Lovely fog puzzle. No single step was of itself hard difficulty but overall it it still felt fairly hard. Nice logic from start to finish. Thanks!

Fascinating ruleset. Starts off easy but then becomes very tough in mid-solve. Overall, great fun. Thanks for setting and sharing, @ ChinStrap :).

I agree with the comment below, well crafted and very rewarding, much less intimidating than at first blush.

Excellent flow, great deductions. As far as feedback, I would rate this a 3 star difficulty, the logic flowed really well together as most fog of wars do, and since the break in was more simple I would give it a 3/5 on hard. I enjoyed it 5/5
