Dutch Cat Mates

(Published on 21. September 2025, 18:31 by Andrewsarchus)

Rules:
  • Normal Sudoku rules apply

  • Copy Cat cells:
    • Exactly one cell in each row, column, and box is a Copy Cat cell.
    • The digits 1-9 each occur exactly once in a Copy Cat cell.
    • The value of a Copy Cat cell is the digit (not value) from the rotationally opposite cell in the grid.
For example, if R3C4 is a Copy Cat cell, then its value is the digit from R7C6.

  • Dutch Flat Mates:
    • Every cell with a value of 5 must either have a cell directly above it with a value of 1, or a cell directly below it with a value of 9.
    • HOWEVER, in THIS puzzle, the digit 1 can never occur directly above a cell with a value of 5, and the digit 9 can never occur directly below a cell with a value of 5,
    • ...so the Dutch Flat Mates constraint must always be satisfied with Copy Cat cells.

  • Circles:
    • The value in a circle is the distance to a Copy Cat cell in the same row or column as the circled cell.
    • All possible circles have been given.

  • Dutch Whisper Lines:
    • Values of cells occurring sequentially on a Dutch Whisper Line must differ by at least 4.

  • Kropki Pairs:
    • Black Dots separate values in a 2:1 ratio.
    • White Dots separate consecutive values.
    • Not all possibles dots have necessarily been given.
