Mesmerise

(Published on 15. September 2025, 20:25 by edd)

In celebration of Dot Day 2025, this puzzle is mesmerise.

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply.

The face, nose, mouth and frame edges are modular lines. Every set of three adjacent digits along them must have one of 147, one of 258, and one of 369.

The circles for eyes are odd.

The tip of the nose is a maximum, meaning it must be greater than all its orthogonal neighbours.

The black dots separate digits with a 1:2 ratio.

The white dots separate digits with a difference of 1.

The mouth adds to 15, while the bottom cage adds to 9.

Very fun to solve, smooth path and not extremely difficult (to me at least).
Thanks for a great puzzle

Very nice one. Just one suggestion for improving the ruleset: "The mouth adds to 15" is a bit ambiguous, since you earlier refer to the mouth as the modular line. While it's quickly obvious that that one can't add up to just 15, you should rather say "the cage in the mouth" or something like that.
