Fishing Pentominoes

(Published on 12. September 2025, 09:00 by Agent)

Pentominoes:

  • Shade some pentominoes in the grid that may not touch orthogonally, but may touch diagonally.
  • Each pentomino from the bank outside the grid must appear exactly once. Rotations and reflections are allowed.

Anglers:

  • From each clue outside the grid, draw a path which immediately goes into the nearest cell of the grid and then travels through the centers of some cells until arriving at a fish.
  • Paths may not cross themselves, each other, or fish.

Interactions:

  • Each shaded pentomino must contain exactly one fish.
  • All unshaded cells and some shaded cells must be used by a path.
  • The letter at the beginning of a path indicates the shape of the pentomino reached at the end of the path, as indicated in the bank outside the grid. A question mark may represent any letter.
  • Each path only visits the pentomino that contains its fish, and when entering that pentomino, the path must travel straight to the fish without turning or exiting the pentomino.

Excellent setting, very good use of the connectivity logic in here! Funny how some points I thought to be impossible to resolve actually had some nice yet sneaky way to progress next x)
