This puzzle was my final round puzzle from the New Rules speed setting tournament hosted by Gene on the Sudoku Skunkworks server in summer 2024.
Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once each in each row, column, and 3x3 box.
-Dutch Whispers: Adjacent digits on an orange line must vary by at least 4.
-Archery Contest: Cages in rings closer to the bullseye (r5c5) have sums that are closer numerically to the digit in the bullseye than cages in rings further away from the bullseye.
-Kropki Pairs: Digits in cells connected by white dots are consecutive; digits in cells joined by a black dot must be in a 2:1 ratio. Not all dots are necessarily given.

initially completely misunderstood the rules as all same coloured cages summed together

Easy to make mistakes, especially without the killer calculator. But very nice nonetheless. I assumed that digits could not repeat in cages, but it's solvable without that assumption.

This was that wonderfully pleasant level of challenging where it really takes a lot of thought, but no brain breakers accessible only to highest-level solvers. A lot of fun!
I did struggle not knowing whether digits were allowed to repeat in cages, and whether cages in the same ring were supposed to contain the same sum or could contain different sums. Not sure if that was intentionally left ambiguous to add to the challenge, or should be clarified in the rules.
