C Major Chord - Open

(Published on 21. August 2025, 14:56 by pagedo)

Normal Sudoku rules apply.
The Green Dots highlight the 3rd, 5th and 7th Frets moving down the brown Fret board. Digits in Col 5, Rows 2 to 9, indicate the Fret number.
Adjacent digits along a green German Whisper line must differ by at least 5.
Adjacent digits along an orange Dutch Whisper line must differ by at least 4.
Cells joined by an X sum to 10. Cells joined by a V sum to 5.
Digits joined by a white dot are consecutive. Cells joined by a black dot, one digit is double the other.
Not all Xs, Vs or dots are given.

FYI: The Blue area above the thick Yellow Nut (between rows 1 and 2) is used to indicate which strings are not played by an X and which strings are open by a white dot. An open string is not touched by a finger on the fret board.

It was a nice quick snack. I thought it was neat that a puzzle could be made out of a fretboard with a properly notated chord.

pagedo: @tmokonen - Thanks for you nice comments. You validated what I was trying to achieve with my setting of this puzzle.

Fun puzzle, unique idea, I just wish I played guitar so I could see the chord! The grid is definitely hard to see, I think future puzzles could have the guitar a bit less dark. It would be above my head, but there could be some really fun musical theory/sudoku puzzles I bet!
