10 for the Price of 1 (Fog)

(Published on 16. August 2025, 16:28 by jsmirob)

Solve this puzzle twice. In solution A, normal sudoku rules apply. The grid is partially covered with fog. Placing correct digits in solution A may clear fog somewhere in the grid. No guessing is required. In solution B, solve each 3x3 box as a Latin square using three digits from 1-9. Different boxes may use a different triple of digits. The two solutions must match in exactly nine cells, one in each 3x3 box. Filling these cells correctly is guaranteed to clear fog. NB, solution A may have other fog-clearing cells.

Digits in cages sum to the indicated total. Digits along an arrow sum to the digit in that arrow's circle. Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive. A solid grey circle must contain an odd digit. Clues do not cross 3x3 box borders.

(Solvers are highly encouraged to open two copies of the puzzle to record the two solutions. You may also find it useful to keep track of which cells have cleared fog. For the purpose of solution checking, use solution A.)
