Dark Forest (Mochikoro Forest Walk)

(Published on 12. August 2025, 09:00 by Agent)

The puzzle below is a hybrid of Mochikoro and Forest Walk.

Rules

  • Mochikoro: Shade some cells in the grid to form regions of unshaded (forest) cells. No 2x2 area may be fully shaded. All unshaded regions must be rectangular in shape, and they must be diagonally connected with each other.

  • Mochikoro (unshaded) clues: If a number appears on an unshaded (forest) cell, that number indicates the size of the corresponding unshaded region. An unshaded region may have at most one clue.

  • Forest Walk: Draw lines in the grid to form a single connected loop network. The network cannot have dead ends or 4-way crossings. Every visited forest (unshaded) cell must have a T-junction, and there can be no T-junctions outside of forest cells.

  • Forest Walk (shaded) clues: If a number appears on a shaded cell, that number indicates how many cells make up the corresponding section of continuous shaded cells. All numbered shaded cells must be visited by the loop network (unshaded numbers may or may not be visited). A shaded section may have any number of clues, including none at all.
