Dotted Lines

(Published on 31. July 2025, 08:37 by logischmaster)

After solving a few puzzles on the portal myself, I finally wanted to create my own puzzle. Now I know that creating is even harder than solving... But I'm very happy with the result. I hope you are too!

Rules:
-Sudoku rules apply: Fill all digits from 1 to 9 into every row, column, and 3x3 box.
-When an even and an odd digit are in orthogonally adjacent cells, then a dot is placed on the border between the cells.
-When two digits with a difference of 1 are in orthogonally adjacent cells, then two dots are placed on the border between the cells.
-Digits in cells with arrows indicate the amount of dots in the respective direction.
-Cells with multiple arrows count each direction independently.
-Not all possible arrows are given.

Here's an example to clarify the rules:

Nice ... but brutal as there are so many possibilities to eliminate. To introduce a new rule, it's always nice to start with an easier puzzle and set gradually more difficult.:-)
Thanks
