Prime Lines

(Published on 21. July 2025, 17:56 by AlexanderRichards)

Rules:

Normal Sudoku Rules Apply:

Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column and marked 3x3 box

Dynamic fog:

The grid is covered with fog, placing correct digits may or may not clear certain areas of fog.

Placing a correct digit will always clear its own cell, this can be used to indicate if you have made a mistake.

No guessing is required and is discouraged!

Prime index lines:

Prime index lines do not branch, cross itself or other lines, or share digits with other lines and may not move diagonally

Along a red prime index line, with the starting index being marked with a square: digits on prime indexes must be prime digits and digits on non-prime indexes must be not be prime digits.

A prime number is a number with only 2 factors (1 and itself) such as 2, 3, 5 and 7.

All prime index lines have a length between 7 and 9 (inclusive)

Digits may repeat on lines if allowed by other rules.

Example of a valid prime index line: 4-2-5-6-7-4-3-1-9

Kropki dots:

Black dots sit between two cells in which the digits in those cells must be in a 1:2 ratio such as 3 and 6.

A composite number is a number which isn’t prime such as 1, ...
But 1 is neither prime nor composite

AlexRichards: Thank you for your comment, yes you are quite right - this completely slipped my mind. I have changed the rules to remove this ambiguity. I hope you still enjoyed the puzzle regardless :)
