I posted the original version of this puzzle the other week, but shortly after that it was brought to my attention that I'd made an oversight while setting it. Fixing that ended up needing a pretty through rework of the puzzle, and this is the result.

Jay's puzzles bring out the inner masochist in me. They are so fabulous I have to keep going even as I can feel my brain being wrung out. But you just know there will be a nugget of logic that makes it all worthwhile. But making us fill in the outside numbers smacks of sadism.

As usual Jay Created a -Think Out Of The Box- puzzle.
They are hard but you can’t resist.
Finishing it so rewarding. Can’t wait for the next one.
If you loved this one please try ‘Roman Lockout’ by Jay (that one is even better)

What a wonderful idea. Took a while to get my head around the break in but worth it. Thank you for setting and sharing.

Fabulous puzzle! After the beautiful break-in, each deduction was very hard to observe but led sure,y on a very narrow solve path. Thoroughly enjoyed battling with it. Thanks a lotforsharingthis.

ummm...can the clues repeat within a row or column?
I am confused about that even after solving the puzzle.
Yes, clues outside the grid an repeat. The rules about not repeating only apply to the sudoku digits in the 9x9 grid itself.

Very cool interactions! The break-in was especially delightful, but there were many beautiful moments throughout the solve. Thanks!
