Horseshoe

(Published on 10. July 2025, 15:44 by SamuPiano)

This puzzle was set in response to Scojo's Setting Saturday prompt.

O joyous day! O beautiful, beautiful wheel! A day that I never reckoned would arrive has shed its radiant light like shook foil on my mind. For the wheel has spun and landed on split peas!

It has also landed on global entropy, which, ya know, is alright. Without further ado, here are the rules.

RULES:

SUDOKU: Normal sudoku rules apply.
GLOBAL ENTROPY: Each 2x2 in the grid must contain at least one low (1,2,3), one medium (4,5,6) and one high (7,8,9) digit.
SPLIT PEAS: The sum of the digits between two circles must be equal to a concatenation of the digits in the circles, in some order. For instance, 3-346-1 could be a valid split pea line, since 3+4+6=13, which is 1 concatenated with 3.

Very nice puzzle! Rewarding deductions made through the global constraint and the split peas.

Very nice! I'm not the biggest fan of global entropy, but you made really good use of it here in combination with the split peas
