RenBanic Arrows

(Published on 4. July 2025, 18:07 by RedBarchetta)

Rules: Normal Sudoku / Normal Variant rules apply.

Arrows – Digits on an arrow sum to the digit in the bulb of the arrow.

Renban Lines – Digits on purple lines are a set of consecutive digits in any order.

Not all "RenBanic Arrows" are necessarily given.

EDIT - refer to this picture for line clarity. The image on SudokuPad is a little different where renban lines go under circles instead of over.

Commentary Corner: Just having a little fun combining constraints. I think the logic flows well and is fair. Enjoy!

A surprisingly tricky break in that then just completely collapsed. Very nice.

are the pink lines renbans OR "a set of consecutive digits in any order" ?
these are NOT the same thing.

(the absence of "non-repeating" has been used enough times to make this significant)

>>I was unaware - thanks. They are indeed non-repeating. I take issue with those setters that get technical (not saying you are, you are bringing to light that others do.) In the normal world, consecutive means next. It does not repeat. June has two consecutive months, May and July. June is not consecutive with itself. However, math people allow consecutive to mean repeats. Silly IMO.

Same thing with "Strictly Increasing". That only applies to functions. They are no functions in Sudoku, only inputs / digits. We can say that digits must increase on a thermo. Saying that means they cannot be flat or stay the same. The digits are inputs, they must increase. Strictly is just a word math people use to sound smart. It is not needed in Sudoku. IMO. Anyway I do try to make my clues as unambiguous as possible. I will update my wording, thanks!<<
