6x6 Length N Difference N

(Published on 6. July 2025, 13:00 by RailMan)

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 6 once in every row, column and bold outlined region.

Length N Difference N Lines: Adjacent digits on lines must differ by at least the number of cells visited by that line. Digits can repeat on lines if allowed by other rules. Eg. The line from R5C1 to R6C1 visits 2 cells, so adjacent digits on the line must differ by at least 2.

The digit in the grey circle is odd.

My only question is the function of the grey circle. I solved it just fine without ever using it. I think the puzzle could use its deletion, but it's possible I missed something and lucked into the correct solution.

RailMan: Thanks for solving it. If you swap all of the low digits with the high digits (1 with 6, 2 with 5, 3 with 4) then you would get a second valid solution. The grey circle prevents this because the digit must be odd.
