Place the digits 1-8. All digits n must appear n times in the grid. Digits cannot repeat in a region. Digits may appear a maximum of twice in every 3x3 quadrant. There must be a gap of three or more cells between every pair of identical digits.

Tricky but fun! I'm not usually great at "there are X many Xs" puzzles, but this seemed simple enough, with cool logic to divine with the quadrant rules.

For clarification, every 3x3 quadrant refers to just each corner 3x3 area.
