• Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1 through 9, such that every digit appears exactly once in each row, column, and box.
• Guards and Targets: Each box contains exactly 1 Target and 1 Guard.
• Targets: The Target in each box is that box's number (I.E. The Target in Box 1 is the digit 1). A Target cell may only appear in the same row as its value (I.E. The Target 1 must appear in Row 1). Targets may not repeat in rows, columns, or boxes.
• Guards: Every Target cell must be orthogonally adjacent to a Guard. A Guard cell must have the same value as the column in which it appears (I.E. A 1 Guard may only exist in column 1). All 9 Guard cells form a unique set of the digits 1-9. Each Guard cell can only guard a single Target. Guard cells may repeat in rows if allowed by other rules.
• Sandwich sums: Red X's outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits that appear between the Target cell and 9 in that row or column. All X's are equal to 0.
• Parity: Grey circles indicate an odd digit. Grey squares indicate an even digit.
