a convoluted mollifier

(Published on 11. July 2025, 03:36 by aqjhs)

While discussing Coordinate Arrow puzzles with ChinStrap, he suggested arrows that instead of adding their digits they average them.

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • An arrow with two digits A→B refers to the cell at row A column B, and the digit in that cell is equal to the average of the arrow digits, i.e. is equal to (A+B)/2. No two arrows refer to the same cell.

Beautifully neat construction and much more smooth and approachable than it first seems, which is the sign of a great puzzle!

Cool twist on the coordinate arrows, thanks! Flowed very nicely after the opening.
