• Normal Sudoku rules apply.
• A gold cell contains its position within its row, column or region (in normal reading order). All gold cells are given.
For example the gold cell R5C1 is either 1 (position in row), 5 (position in column) or 6 (position in region),
and the white cell R8C7 is NOT 7 (position in row), 8 (position in column) or 4 (position in region).
Solution code: row three

Good to see a ruleset I like is actually used in other puzzles

Beautiful! But the irregularity made it a little tougher for me. Fun to work through though!

Irregular regions are a neat twist on this ruleset! I found this one pretty easy, to the point where I second-guessed myself a couple of times - surely I'm missing something if this is a 3*.
But nah, just gotta be thorough and pay attention to the irregular shapes. I found that coloring each region for visual contrast after my first pass of pencilmarks was very, very helpful.

Focused on the positive constraint at first and totally forgot about the negative constraint. Nice!
