Easy as RBC - Arrows and Renbans

(Published on 10. June 2025, 11:59 by Laake)

Yesss a puzzle title that implies I could make more of this ruleset in the future woah (who knows, I sure don't, I just like to put my puzzles on this funny little website and sometimes they do well and sometimes they don't and that's all ok by me.) Anyway this puzzle is quite a tricky one, very easy to make a false assumption on this. Shout out to Chinstrap/Chinstrap twitch chat and one of my favourite australians Brody for testing this one!

I've not been posting as much as I used to on here? Oopsies! Just a bit of burnout I suppose. But ,also I have been making puzzles, just ones that.... I can't put on here.... (hello Marty Sears I hope you had a nice birthday)

Rules:
  • 123,RBC,789 - Place only the digits 1,2,3,7,8,9 and the letters RBC such that all cells are filled and no digit or letter repeats in any row column or 3x3 box.
  • R's always take the value of the row they are in.
  • B's always take the value of the box they are in.
  • C's always take the value of the column they are in.
  • Values along an arrow sum to the value in the attached circle.
  • Values along a purple Renban line form a set of non-repeating consecutive values, which can appear in any order.(note that letters could repeat on a Renban if they take different values)
  • Note - To enable the ability to place letters on SudokuPad, click the settings cog and the setting is at the top under the tools section.
  • I don't know what setting on your pencil you have to enable if you solve on paper, sorry :(

Enjoy!

Solution code: For this puzzle it would fill me with joy if you gave the answer code as row 7 please!! Make the letters lowercase. I'm not sure if that matters actually but that's what I did and I'm in charge because it's my puzzle.

This is such an excellent puzzle! The RBC rules lead to fresh and interesting logic, and keep you on your toes. Thanks for including the mobile friendly version

Ooh! Another RCB puzzle! Yay! Did you also intend Bs to stand for the box they are in? It doesn’t say that in the rules? Can’t wait to draw this out on my paper and get going on it!

Yeah I did, I had it on the sudokupad post I just didn't copy that line over to here oopsies!
