Irregular rules apply. Place the digits 1 - 6 once in every row and column. Digits may not repeat within any 2, 4 or 6 cell bold outlined region.
Anti-Knight: Cells separated by a Chess Knights move cannot contain the same digit.
Thermometers: Digits must increase along the thermometers starting from the bulb end.

Had to exploit the checkerboard pattern to stand a chance

I often see this diagonal pattern in anti knight irregular sudoku. Is there a secret when it's happens?
RailMan: In regular 6x6 anti-knight sudoku you get a checkerboard pattern. There is a video on youtube by 'Rangsk' called 'A surprising anti-knight property in 6x6 sudoku' that explains how it works in regular sudoku. This happens in a lot (but not all!) irregular 6x6 anti-knight sudokus as well.
The particular pattern in this grid happens because of the anti-knight rule and the rotationally symmetric layouts of the grid. Grids with symmetrical layouts often create symmetric patterns in the solutions, as happens here.
In this puzzle, when you figure out where R1C1 goes in Row 2, then you can use the same logic on R6C6, R1C6 and R6C1. These types of deductions then cause the symmetric pattern in the solution.

Nice little puzzle. Very easy once the colors are all down. I suspect the rotational symmetry might help if I was more experienced with irregular areas, but as it was, it still wasn't too hard.

Fun little puzzle. Would say it's 1 star.

Set the difficulty to 2 starts. I guess it is either a 1 or 2 star puzzle. Have fun!
