Colorado 14

I finally found some time to continue the Colorado series. While I aim for a difficulty of two stars, the disambiguation in this one is a bit trickier, especially since you won't have the whole grid coloured before working on the numbered room clues. From Colorado 15 onwards, the puzzles will be smoother again :-)
Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits joined by an X sum to 10. Digits joined by a V sum to 5. All possible Xs and Vs are given.
Numbered Rooms
A digit outside the grid has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit in the cell next to the clue.

I found this 4* difficulty. It was very hard keeping track of highs and lows, matching pairs of numbers of V and X . . . altogether, really very tough. Battled through in the end without disambiguation required and got there. Well done to the setter and anyone else who completes it.

I really liked that one, thank you Florian! I was glad for the hint about not finishing the colouring first, I think I would have struggled with the negative constraint for a lot longer otherwise. That was one of my favourite disambiguations I've seen in a long time!
