I didn't find this tough at all, except for making myself remember that these were 'double' arrows.
I have no idea what 'roping' is, but there is an important method for solving with that particular shape of palindrome lines. I see it is mentioned in these comments too.
Anyway, lots of fun. Really enjoyed it!

This is a 1.5 star puzzle, very easy and pure logical path !!

This is not a one star puzzle, it took me over an hour to solve it. But it's a cool one

Fantastic first puzzle with some trickier-than-expected spots. We look forward to seeing more puzzles from you.

Thank you! I have been working on another puzzle for over two weeks now with a break-in that I really like, but I cannot seem to get it to finish nicely without compromising the break-in or putting in extra constraints. Any tips?

Really good! I think I understand roping better now. Definitely not 1*, even with roping, though.
I had a good time solving this while vibing to siivagunner rips :)

I agree that this a fun puzzle and harder than 1-star puzzles usually are. Not sure what “roping” is but I could figure it out without knowing. Good 90-minute challenge for me, thank you. Good job!

Thank you for the kind comment. Knowledge of "roping" is definitely not required to solve this puzzle but it may exponentially reduce your solve time and shows up in variant sudoku. Without spoiling too much, I would encourage you to study Rows 1, 2, & 3 and see how the palindrome effects the makeup of digits in boxes 1, 2, & 3 while focusing on the rows.

Nice! I would rate it 2*

good puzzle, but feels harder than level 1.
i think i made it harder by missing the "obvious" roping, but if you use roping, it's immediately a level 2 puzzle.

Edit 1: Text Formatting. Can someone help show me how to place a photo into the text and a hyperlink to the puzzle? Also the format seems good in the text box when I am typing it (with line breaks, some bold font etc.) but on the screen it is just one continuous sentence
