Nine Lives

(Published on 12. May 2025, 14:40 by ThePedallingPianist)

A 9-part puzzle adventure featuring 4x4 sudokus in approximately increasing difficulty. With thanks to Scojo for his snackdoku prompt that inspired this series, as well as my dad, Marty Sears and ViKingPrime for help with testing and aesthetics. Thanks also to Phil The Hat for his excellent line curving tool, which helped to bring the cat to life!

I love puzzles with pictures, and especially with cat pictures. Nice variety: lots of different rules, range of difficulty. Great fun.

#5 is the hardest for me as well, not sure that was a solution or just me brute-forcing the puzzle, but I enjoyed the rest of the puzzles nonetheless!

I think #5 was the hardest for me and might be a huge roadblock for others. If you see this, keep at it, as the remaining puzzles are an absolute delight. Highly recommend it for people looking to upgrade their star level. Thanks TPP!!!

Awesome. Tempting for try outs. For me 9 was the hardest and 10 the most fun. Great setting thx.

Amazing puzzle pack! Thanks!

I had an issue with the rules on my phone in sudokupad, because the words written with bold letters couldn't be read (there was just a row of boxes), so I had to do some guessing based on word lengths. But then the solution code was also bolded... This has happened before but this time I couldn't check the rules on this lmd-page.

Wonderful puzzles! Incredible to fit such deep logic in a 4x4 grid

That finale! It's like you made this puzzle pack just for me. Not for the faint of heart -- which is shocking given it's a 4x4 pack -- but it's worth every second of your time.

well, i made it as far as #5. i cant for the life of me find any logical way to break in there. but then i always struggle with that rule type, it does my head in.

very nice little puzzles up to that point though!

Awesome and fun set of variations. It starts pretty tame but they rapidly get more fascinating towards the end. Also maybe because of the grid size it never feels too unreasonable, all of them stayed under 20 minutes for me.
