Dutch Flat Mates (Counting Chess)

(Published on 7. May 2025, 11:30 by Gnubeutel)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column and box exactly once.

Dutch Flat Mates: each 5 needs to have either a 1 directly above or a 9 directly below or both.

Counting Chess: All cells with chess symbols have to see exactly N cells of value N via their chess move, where N is the digit in the symbol's cell. The cell itself is not counted.
E.g. a bishop with a value of 3 needs to see three other cells with value 3 via bishop's move, i.e. on its diagonals.

Play online with sudokupad.

Cool rules. Break in was tricky for me. Also the last two chess pieces needed a bit of marking ahead. The middle part was very fluent. Great fun thx.

Wonderful addition to the series, with some great steps along the way. Definitely not the 1/5 difficulty that it was originally listed as - haha!

Nice addition to the series. Weird ruleset. I also think that it is a 2 :-)

Changed initial difficulty, due to a customer request. (It's not that hard, trust me. It's more of a 2.)
