Run through the fog

(Published on 5. April 2025, 20:47 by DedaKosta)

Rules for solving:

- Normal sudoku rules apply - Place digits 1-9 once each in every row, column and 3x3 box

- Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive, digits separated by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio, ie. one digit is double the other. Not all dots are given

- There are 2 green german whisper lines in the greed. One starts and ends in box 1 and doesn't step into box 5. The other one only stays in the box 5. Adjacent digits on the line must have a difference of at least 5

- Palindrome lines - Digits on a gray line read the same from both directions

- Fog of war - The greed is partially covered in fog. Placing correct digit in any cell reveals the fog around that cell

I rated this 1/5 difficulty.

Very nice & approachable FoW puzzle! I really enjoyed several different logical steps as I worked my way down the big line - particularly the break-in logic and the early midgame logic in box 4. The fog and line/clue placements were very well executed, and they led me down an enjoyable solve path.

This puzzle reminded me of @meggen033's "one line" FoW puzzle series (which I also really enjoy), but with a slightly different (entertaining) style.

The logic was totally reasonable and approachable for a 1-2* puzzle, and did a great job of balancing "simplicity" with being interesting/fun to solve as a high-intermediate/advanced solver. I think this puzzle may be on the [slightly] harder end of 1* difficulty, but I think a beginner (perhaps being familiar with FoW sudoku & the other variant rules) should be able to successfully approach & solve this puzzle.

Overall great puzzle, thanks for sharing!
