Hit Count

(Published on 21. March 2025, 16:19 by marty_sears)

    Rules:

    Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits may not repeat on a beige hitline. A circled digit on a hitline indicates how many digits match their position number along that line, starting at the end with the square (which is 'position 1'.)

Eg: If a line reads 97325, then the 2 would be circled because there are two digits in their correct positions: 3 is in the 3rd position, and 5 is in the 5th position.

Really nice puzzle. I struggled mightily, had to start over 2 times.

My hat's off to hitlines and this fun puzzle. I'm impressed with the middle row's interestingness.

Yet another great puzzle with a beautiful setting for the lovely break-in and a satisfying delightful solve following. Thank you very much for creating and sharing the second gem of the week.

Beautiful as always. These last two hitline puzzles you made are some of my favourite puzzles I've ever solved. I'd love to see more! I will rate this one as a 2-star since it took me a little less than 30 minutes to solve, while a 3-star normally takes me upwards of an hour. Thank you for sharing.

Deceptively easy break in, then some lovely logic before the sudoku ending takes over.
Fantastic puzzle and great fun!

Cute puzzle with original logic.

lovely puzzle! had to keep reminding myself that these weren't index lines and that, apart from the 9-lines, every digit 1-n did not appear on the line. lots of fun!

Fun construction. I think I even prefer this variation compared to the hitlines that came before it although both constraints are very interesting.
