Tentative Scribblings (with sujoyku)

(Published on 14. March 2025, 16:22 by ChinStrap)

For a Scojo weekly prompt about curvy lines, I proposed to sujoyku that we use our curvy initials. We are very happy with the resulting puzzle, and hope you enjoy!

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Tentropy Lines: Every set of 4 adjacent digits on a hollow peach line must contain a digit from each of the X-pair (ten-pair) subsets of {1,9}, {2,8}, {3,7}, and {4,6}. A 5 may not appear on a tentropy line. Digits on a line may repeat if allowed by other rules.
  • Ten Lines: Each solid green line can be split into contiguous, non-overlapping segments that sum to exactly 10. If allowed by other rules, digits inside a segment may repeat.

All feedback (positive or critical) appreciated!

Solution code: Box 7, in left to right reading order (9 digits)

This pairing of rules work super well together, and lead to some very fun and sometimes surprising interactions. Thank you both for such a treat!

Great puzzle! Lovely use and interactions of the constraints. This may be one of your hardest puzzles yet, at least for me. Thank you

Thank you for this fun collaboration, ChinStrap! I loved the interactions that the Tentropy and Tenlines allowed.
