It's a Wonderful Day For Pi!

(Published on 14. March 2025, 00:00 by SirWoezel)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Mean Diamonds: A digit N in a blue diamond means the first N digits on any line leaving from that diamond (including the digit in the diamond itself) have an exact average of N. All cells on a line must be counted in at least one of those averages.

To celebrate International Pi Day, the digits 3, 1 and 4 appear in the three golden cells.

And -in an effort to be very precise- at the corner where two lines cross: one line goes straight from R1C6 to R2C5 and the other straight from R1C5 to R2C6.

As always, have fun!

Thanks @waffles_the_dog. I am very happy about this puzzle too, but it appears to be quite a bit harder than I thought it was.

I really enjoyed this puzzle, thanks for setting it :D

The break in was brilliant, and the solve path after that is fun as well - I was waylaid by a basic arithmetic mistake for a looong time, but when I reset the puzzle a started again with a bit more care in my maths and pencilling it was very smooth and every step was great :D

(I feel really bad for screwing it up initially because it's such a pretty solve path)

@giladooshlon: In fact both is true.
If R5C3 = 3 then
a) (R3C1+R4C2+R5C3)/3 = 3
b) (R5C3+R5C4+R5C5)/3 = 3
But also:
c) (R3C1+R4C2+R5C3+R5C4+R5C5)/5 = 3
I think, a) and b) are the intended rules and c) follows "by mathematics".

@StefanSch
Yes, but it doesn't work the other way around.
