PEArates of the QUADribbean (with sujoyku)

(Published on 6. March 2025, 03:49 by Calvinball)

This puzzle came to be when the Scojo puzzle prompt challenged you to team up with a setter you haven't worked with before to create a puzzle together, each setter choosing one of the two constraints allowed in the puzzle. I asked the wonderful sujoyku if they would like to partner up, and was delighted to get a "yes" in response. We chose Split Peas and Quads, and the rest is history.

A big thank you to ChinStrap and SamuPiano taking an early look at this puzzle and their valued feedback.

Happy solving!

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once in every row, column, and box.
  • Split Pea Lines: Digits on a line between two circles sum to a two-digit number written using the digits in the circles. For example, 3_346_1 could be a valid split pea line, as 3+4+6=13, which is 1 concatenated with 3.
  • Quads: Digits in a circle must appear in the four cells surrounding the circle.
  • Solve on Sudokupad

Solution code: Column 8
