(Published on 15. January 2025, 21:24 by ebiggie)

RULE SET:

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 through 9 in each row, column, and box.

GERMAN WHISPER (GREEN): Adjacent digits along a green German Whispers line must differ by at least 5. Digits may repeat if other rules allow.

KILLER CAGE: The sum of the cells in a cage must equal the total given for that cage. Digits in a cage do not repeat.

I love the spiral around the puzzle that cleanly resolves itself in the obvious box. Such clear setting. Well done!

Needed two restarts before I finally got the deduction strategy right (aka being a bit sloppy). Beautiful puzzle, thanks for the construction and sharing.

SECOND
a solid exercise in intermediate techniques for GW puzzles. can be solved most efficiently using just 2 colours (+ neutral = 5), and marking the 4 critical candidate pairs.
because these techniques can be fully explained to any noob in <15 min, this puzzle qualifies as "approachable"
