Another prank (6x6 fog puzzle)

(Published on 1. April 2024, 14:47 by SudokuFan)

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply
  • Fog: The grid is partially covered in fog. Placing correct digits (without guessing!) will clear the fog from the surrounding cells, potentially revealing more clues.
  • Kropki: Cells orthogonally across a white circle must differ by the digit inside the circle, cells orthogonally across a black circle must have the ratio of 1:N, where N is the digit inside the circle (there is no need to use half-hidden digits at the edge of the fog)
  • Killer: Digits in a cage must not repeat, and must sum to the given total
  • Goodliffables: Digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb end

Great puzzle - loved the joke although I needed the explanation. Please simplify code ... in the meanwhile if people want to save their fingers just add last row to the end of this code: 425163613452532614146235251346XXXXXX

I am utterly baffled by this. The start doesn't seem solvable and even when I guessed my way through the puzzle to see the full layout I couldn't see how I was supposed to make progress. What are the big black and white dots? Is the prank "hey, here's this unsolvable puzzle and people can pretend they solved it and rate it 1 star to make others feel dumb?"
EDIT: typo

Goodliffables! :D But the whole sudoku is a lovely joke, it took me quite a while to realize what is going on. :)

Amazing puzzle! Little tricky at first then it clicked.

Great joke, but also a really interesting mechanic that would work pretty well in a larger, more difficult puzzle.
