Nabner In the Nebula (FOW)
(Published on 11. September 2023, 21:04 by gdc)
The ruleset of this puzzle is heavily inspired by I'll Cry If I Want To by FullDeck-Missing. Thanks to the CtC fan discord for the test solves!
- Normal sudoku rules apply
- Fog of War: the grid is covered in fog. Placing correct digits reveals clues in the surrounding 3 by 3 area.
- Nabner lines: Every pair of digits on a golden nabner line must have a difference of 2 or more. I.e. if 5 is on a line, 4, 5 and 6 cannot appear anywhere else on the line.
- X-sums: Numbers outside the grid give the sum of the first X digits along that row or column (the "X-sum"), where X is the first digit seen from the direction of the clue.
- In addition to any nabner lines revealed as the fog lifts, every X-sum forms a hidden nabner line at least X cells long starting from the cell closest to the clue.

Great puzzle!! This was my first nabner line solve so I struggled a bit with the logic here and there. Thanks for sharing

Thanks! Pretty impressive that you managed to solve this as your first nabner.

I loved every piece of logic in the puzzle. From the break in to the very end. Hard, but enjoyable.
Thanks!

2 of my favourite constraints.
Break in was nice. Some lovely bits of logic throughout but I know I followed your intended route as I was finding little gems towards the end. I was slowing my time as I stopped to tell my dog how beautiful it was.

Haha, glad you enjoyed! Yes, after breaking through that stone-hard row 4 wall I tried to make the rest relatively smooth.
