You Have the First Say(ori)

(Published on 23. May 2023, 19:36 by 99%Sneaky)

Intro:

This is a puzzle set in honor of Sayori (known here as LittleNightmaresLady) who was kind enough to name this lovely puzzle after me. There are two starting positions for this puzzle and you may solve the puzzle from either one of these positions or both, it's totally up to you! Good luck!

Setting up the puzzle (how to pick your starting position):

To begin the puzzle you will place 3 digits into highlighted cells:
  • STEP 1: Place either two 6s or two 7s into the two purple highlighted cells (R4C3 and R6C8).

  • STEP 2: If you have chosen 6s, place the digit 5 in the green square (R5C2). If you have chosen 7s, place the digit 2 in the blue square (R6C1).
Rules:
  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in its circle.
  • Consecutive digits along green lines must have a difference of at least 5.
  • Digits along purple lines are a set of consecutive, non-repeating digits in any order.
  • Digits in the cage sum to the number in the top-left corner of the cage.
  • Digits along the thermometer strictly increase from the bulb end.
  • Digits separated by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio. Not all dots are given.
Important note regarding the solution code:
  • If you choose the 6s start you will enter the solution code normally.
  • if you choose the 7s start you will be switching the 3 and 4 when entering the code .
  • If you choose to solve both, you will enter the code normally using the digits from the 6s start.

What goes 99 clunk, 99 clunk? A centipede with a peg leg.
A cattle rancher asked me to help him round up his herd. "How many do you have," I asked. "99," he replied. "100," I responded. "You're welcome."
If life has taught me anything, it's that 99.99% of people are idiots. I’m just happy I belong to the 1%.

Thanks for the fun puzzles.

Wow I think this could be in the Comment Hall of Fame :) I see we have a real joker on here haha. Super glad you enjoyed the puzzles, thank you for playing!

Nice puzzle! I did both versions, smooth solves. The 7s puzzle took me about 50% more time. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind feedback, interesting note about the time.
