Normal sudoku rules apply.
Digits along a pink line form a consecutive group in any order. Digits do not repeat on the line EXCEPT for the ends, which are the SAME digit.
For example, possible fills for a line of length 5 might be 64756, 25342, 34123, etc.

thanks for the hint Silverscreen, that's more or less what happened to me as well... was concentrating on the colours more than on anything else, what slowed me down until I realised that I read your commeent and something about stubborn colouring so I checked back.... and yeah :D
Luckily I didn't have any mistakes at that point, other than a lot of wasted time staring into a void.

I struggled for a long time to find the break-in, but eventually found it when I realised that my stubborn insistence that this must be a colouring puzzle had obscured what felt like an obvious deduction in hindsight. And then my mess of pencil marks meant I made a mistake somewhere! I ended up starting fresh and solved it quite quickly, making good use of both renban logic and some colouring logic. A lovely treat to finally finish, and honestly not exceedingly hard if you don't clog up the board. Thanks!

A lovely, colorful and flowing puzzle - very nice interplay with the palindromic ends - thank you :-)
