Double Entropy

Exactly one year ago Mad-Tyas had developed the entropy variant. Of course this first anniversary needs to be celebrated... with puzzles!
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Cells connected by an X sum to 10 (no negative constraint).
- Kropki Pairs: Cells connected by a black dot have a 2:1 ratio. Cells connected by a white dot are consecutive (no negative constraint).
- Double Entropy: In the finished grid each 2x2 area has to contain at least one digit of the following six groups: {1,2,3} {4,5,6} {7,8,9} {1,4,7} {2,5,8} {3,6,9}.
Examples: 1,5,9 would already fulfil the 2x2 requirement. But 1,4,5,8 would not be valid since there is no digit from the {3,6,9} group.

Thank your for this great puzzle, Raumplaner! After a good start I had to slow down a little. But once I made a little more progress, the solve became very smooth again. Anyway, it was a lot fun for me.

Zuerst hatte ich arge Bedenken, dass sich das lösen längr hinzieht oder superoberunübersichtlich ist, aber die haben sich schnell zerschlagen. Man kann da bestimmt fiese Versionen entwickeln, aber das hier war nett. :)

Vielen Dank! Tatsächlich ist die Double Entropie-Variante extrem restriktiv. Aber mit den zusätzlichen Hinweisen sollte es auch für unerfahrene Löser machbar sein. (Raumplaner)

All I can say is...Ew. And I mean that in the best way possible! Still working through it, and I’ve noticed while it’s not horrifyingly tricky in terms of actual logical deductions, simply carrying all those sets of digits continuously in your head is a heavy mental load that still makes it a strangely fun headache. One for us sudokumasochists, for sure. But for those of us out there, it is brilliant! Brilliantly ew!
Edit: I’ve found using Sven’s new color palettes on the CTC SudokuPad help. I’m using the RGB variant, with red for 147, green for 258 and blue for 369, light shades of those for the low numbers, mid for mid, and dark for high. While it’s not an actual “colouring puzzle” (where colours for totally unknown digits come first), since you always have proper pencilmarks, colours still do help to focus in on and visualise the pencilmarks’ modular-hues and entropy-brightnesses at once!

Thanks for trying out the puzzle. Coloring can help but can distract as well. Personally i found it's easier to solve if you don't color too much. (Raumplaner)
